Recently, BudgetGadgets.com provided us with an opportunity to review their USB gadgets. The on-line retailer shipped us three products – the Cola Can Shape USB Optical Mouse, the Doraemon Style USB Scroll Wheel Mouse, and the Portable USB Cooling Cooler Fan. We reviewed the products for almost a month, and here’s our experience.

If I have to describe these three products in one sentence then I can say that all are good on design, but lacks substance. In effect all of them are pretty good on design. If you’re looking for some budget USB products which can raise quite a few eyebrows then these are the products to buy. Pretty affordable and eye-raising. But if you’re one of those who prefers paying bit more if getting all-around good product then these aren’t suitable for you.

Cola Can Shape Optical Mouse:

As the name suggest it’s a shaped as a Coca Cola Can. Look-wise its very good. When my friends saw it attached to my desktop system at home all were completely amazed. All said its completely weird product (in good sense). But the sad part is it lacks substance. The mouse is pretty slow and not that comfortable.
The major problem of this mouse is its speed -- very slow. For basic surfing and other standard work it works, but certainly not while playing computer games. In effect, even while doing normal computer work you feel the slow movement. If you happen to use some expensive Logitech mouse and then switch to this product then you’ll never like it due to its slow response time.

Other than that another problem is its design. Somehow you don’t feel comfortable holding it. Also, hand becomes sweaty due to its shiny surface.

At the end, if you’re looking for some cheap and weird mouse then this is your product as nothing can be more weirder then the Cola Can Shape Mouse. Or if you want to increase your geeky quotient and want to get those shocking glances from your colleague then buy this $7.96 mouse.

Doraemon Style USB Scroll Wheel Mouse

Like the Cola Can Shape Mouse, the Doraemon Style USB Scroll Wheel Mouse is good on design. In effect, its very cute, and comfortable. But speed problem persist. Like the Coca Cola mouse, the cartoon-shaped mouse lacks speed. This is the only problem with this mouse. Other than that its well worth $7.20.

Actually this mouse is pretty good to gift to your kid or younger sibling. I bet they’ll love this Doraemon mouse. The mouse looks cute and is very comfortable, so it would be a good gift to young children.

Portable USB Cooling Cooler Fan

The best about this fan? It looks amazing. The worst thing? It doesn’t provide any breeze. It’s such a big paradox that such a good looking product doesn’t work at all. When I received this product I didn’t expected it to work that greatly, but fact of the matter is that the fan doesn’t work at all. I mean it doesn’t provide any breeze! At best this $7.45 gizmo graces your desktop like anything, but at worst is only a decorative item that doesn’t work at all.

If you’re looking for something to grace your desktop then buy it without a thought, but if you expect it work then check out something else because this fan doesn’t provide any wind unless and until its only couple of inches away from you. I got many glances when it was attached to my desktop, so in that sense it does its job. But in reality its only good as a decorative item. Nothing else.
