Nothing official here, but word on street has it that Microsoft will come out with a beta version of it's next generation operating system --
Windows 7 --
in couple of weeks' time. The reason why such news are spreading is that two major tech conferences, the Professional Developers Conference (PDC) scheduled for Oct. 27-30, and the Windows Hardware Engineering Conference (WinHEC) slated for Nov. 5-7, are around the corner so MS wouldn't like to miss such a big opportunity to
showcase Windows 7 OS. Michael Cherry, an analyst at Directions on Microsoft said, "When that many developers [come] together, you want them to go home with something that they can play with. Microsoft will want to do more than just tell developers about Windows 7."
