Elpida develops 1-Gigabit GDDR5
Elpida today announced that it has developed a 1-gigabit GDDR5 that operates at a world-class high speed of 6Gbps. The new graphics memory will provide high speed memory for use in graphics processing units, ultimately providing faster graphics power in computers.
After concluding an evaluation at the Munich Design Center, sample shipments will start in December and mass production is expected to begin in the second quarter (April-June) of CY 2010.
