Bing to integrate Wolfram Alpha into its search engine
Next time you search Bing you'll find a new feature -- Wolfram Alpha! Microsoft today announced that it has partnered with Wolfram Alpha under which the former's Bing search engine will allow users to take advantage of the Wolfram Alpha algorithms and search tools within Bing queries. Meaning, next time you search Bing if there is an Alpha page for that particular query, it'll be displayed side-by-side traditional search results.
Bing has started the integration process and will start rolling out Alphas in coming days.
From Microsoft's point of view, its a pretty good development as the integration of Wolfram Alpha will surely provide better information to users, ultimately increasing Bing's share of global searches.
As for Wolfram Alpha, even it'll benefit from this partnership because Bing is the fastest growing search engine today.
"This new and exciting work is completely aligned with our broader goal of enabling faster, more informed decisions. Specifically, we will bring nutritional information and tools into Bing's search results, as well as some straight up hard math and homework help," Microsoft said.
