ASUS Smartbook coming in Q1 2010

freescale_smartbook3.jpg The firm which gave the industry a whole new direction by its Eee PC is planning to do just what it did with Eee PCs. Recently, Asus CEO revealed that the firm is all set to launch its first SmartBook in the first quarter of 2010. As of now, there's no particular definition for a Smartbook, but we can say a Smartbook is a device providing all-day battery life, instant-on functionality and persistent connectivity.

Nothing much is known about Asus' device except that it will not be a netbook PC, meaning Intel and Windows powered system is out of question.

According to ASUS, its first smartbook is its “secret weapon” that reportedly has the marketing potential to achieve an “Eee PC-like peak.”

Well, only time will tell whether history gets repeated or not.
