150 Indian cities to get WiMAX after auctioning of 20MHz spectrum
Though India is yet to boast high number of broadband users, the government has planned to offer WiMAX facilities in 150 cities across India. Reportedly, the Indian government is planning to auction 20MHz spectrum for a minimum of $250 million to four operators in each circle who would in turn serve to around 20 million subscribers each. Once the auctioning is done Indian mobile users will be able to access faster WiMAX network in just 90 days.
If you ask me then I am not sure when the auctioning would start, and if at all the government will achieve its "90 days" target.
The 3G spectrum is yet to be alloted, so you can make out when the auctioning of WiMAX will be done.
