Seagate Sues SSD Maker STEC
Seagate today filed a patent suit against flash drive maker STEC for violating its intellectual property rights. Seagate claims that STEC violated four of its patents covering the way a storage device communicates with a computer. This technology is very useful for solid state disks as fast communication between a storage device and computer means high speed of operation. This case will be closely followed by many other SSD manufacturers as they might be next in the line. Meanwhile, STEC is yet to respond to Seagate’s claims.
