Samsung vice president commits suicide due to work pressure
In the past we have seen many people commit suicide owing to work pressure. But this piece of news is rather shocking as the person committing suicide was a vice president at Samsung Electronics Korea. No word on personal details, but the man has been identified as Lee. This incident is pretty strange as the US-educated Lee had won the title of “Samsung Fellow” in the year 2006, which is awarded annually to the company’s most outstanding engineer.
Lee, who had joined Samsung in 1992 and worked at its semiconductor and flash memory division, jumped from his Seoul apartment building.
The 51-year old vice president was found dead on Tuesday outside the building.
No word on other details except for the fact that he left behind a suicide note saying he felt heavily burdened at work.
“This is a personal tragedy,” a Samsung spokesman told AFP, declining to give details such as the vice president’s full name.
