Microsoft, Yahoo gets green light for their search engine alliance

Yesterday marked a beginning of a unique period that would see search engine leader number 2 and 3 join hands to fight search engine leader number 1. Yes, Microsoft and Yahoo! got green light for their search engine alliance from anti-trust watchdogs both in America and Europe. Now both companies can begin their fight against industry leader Google without having to worry about getting involved in big, expensive anti-trust litigation.
“Although we are just at the beginning of this process, we have reached an exciting milestone,” said Microsoft Chief Executive Officer Steve Ballmer. “I believe that together, Microsoft and Yahoo! will promote more choice, better value and greater innovation to our customers as well as to advertisers and publishers.”
Now that they got green light for their project, Microsoft Bing will start replacing Yahoo’s own search engine throughout the world.
