In surprising move, Intel today announced that it has acquired McAfee security firm for $7.68 billion. From now on McAfee will operate as a wholly-owned subsidiary, reporting into Intel’s Software and Services Group. According Intel the main reason for buying a security firm is to integrated processors with built-in security features to ultimately better protect consumers.

So how would consumer benefit from this? Well, you can expect future devices — especially mobile devices — to be a lot more secure.
Intel’s focus is to make “online” experience as secure as possible. So if the firm is able to merge McAfee’s security software with its processors then viruses and malwares will soon be a thing of past.
    Hope for the best!
