Toshiba's American Storage Division today unveiled a new portable hard drive, boasting complete backup and password-protection 256-bit encryption. The next-generation of USB portable drive provides these features to increase security. The portable drive can be used with both Windows and Mac operating systems, and provides large 500GB and 320GB storage capacities.

Windows users can utilize NTI BackupNow EZ software which allows users to backup their system with a single click. The best thing about this software is that it allows you to restore your PC even if Windows is unable to start.

Mac users can use NTI Shadow 4 software to backup selected folders and files. The drive is also compatible with Apple Time Machine.

The 500GB drive is priced at $149.99 while the 320GB version cost $119.99.
