Super Talent 0.85" and 1.0" solid-state drives are the world's smallest

super-talent_0.85inch-ssd.jpg The old saying, "big things come in small packages" is so true. Especially for Super Talent. The firm continues its love for small yet powerful products with the introduction of new solid state disks. Super Talent's latest "small" offerings, just like its world's smallest Pico drive, are the world's tiniest SSD storage solutions. These new ultra small IDE SSDs are made for small enclosures. According to the firm, they're a perfect small, fast, reliable and affordable storage option for small form factor applications. These disks are developed using Intel's technology for use in UMPC (Ultra Mobile PC) and DMB (Digital Multimedia Broadcasting) devices.

The 1.0-inch and 0.85-inch SSD models employ a parallel ATA (PATA/IDE) interface with a ZIF connector, and are based on the Intel Z-P140 Solid-State Drive, a NAND-based solution that combines a controller with single level cell NAND Flash Memory.

The 0.85" model offers 2GB or 4GB capacity while providing 40/30 MB/sec read/write speed. On the other hand its bigger sibling boast up to 8GB capacity with same read as well as write speed.
