SiliconDrive USB Blade solid state drive launched

silicon-driveUSB-blade.jpgSiliconSystems has announced a new solid state drive, the SiliconDrive USB Blade, in an "environmentally-rugged and ultra-small form factor." According to the company, the drive provides improved storage design flexibility in applications where board space and performance are critical design considerations. The USB 2.0 drive comes with firm's patented technologies such as PowerArmor, SiSMART and SiliconDrive Secure to deliver "high performance, high reliability and multi-year product lifecycles embedded storage applications demand."

The SiliconDrive USB Blade SSD will be available from December in 512MB, 1GB, and 2GB capacities.
