Samsung Electronics has announced that "it has become the first to begin mass production of 16Gb NAND flash" on 51nm fabrication technology. The 51nm flash chips can be produced 60% more efficiently than those that made on 60nm and boost 80% more read (30MB/s) and write (8MB/s) speeds over current MLC data processing speeds, claims the company.

Samsung expects the demand for 16Gb NAND flash memory to grow rapidly, so you can expect them to hit market beginning late this year.
