Samsung Electronics has announced the shipment of their first hybrid HDD “MH80” series to the OEM manufacturer. The 2.5-inch HDD sports 128 / 256 MB of NAND flash and 80 / 120 / 160 GB storage capacity. Windows Vista supports this hybrid HDD as a “Windows ReadyDrive” technology. Because of the flash memory, you get a high reading and writing speed. The drives decreases battery/electricity consumption, and heat and prevents data loss due to vibrations.

The company claims, the MH80 series decreases Vista boot time by 50%, and electric power consumption by 70-90% and increases battery life by about 30 minutes and reliability by 5 times.
