Patriot Memory today added a solid state disk to their flash offerings. The new disk will be available with up to 256GB storage capacity and will come in 2.5" or 3.5" form factor. "We are excited to offer consumers solid state drives, the latest in computing technology," said Meng Jay Choo, Flash Product Manager for Patriot Memory. "Solid state drives offer many benefits over traditional hard disk drives (HDD) including no moving parts which eliminate the risk of mechanical failure as well as being silent and allowing faster data access because of the lack of a seek-head as found in traditional silicon-platter hard disk drives."
