OCZ Core Series SATA II 2.5 solid state drive for people on budget

ocz_core-series-ssd.jpg OCZ has designed the Core Series SATA II solid state disk for the masses. According to the company, the prices of its latest SSDs are 50% less (price per gigabyte) than other high speed offerings currently on the market. So what are the pricing? Well, the Core series comes in 32GB, 64GB, and 128GB capacities, each priced at $169, $259 and $479 respectively. Still doesn't look with in your reach? Thats because you're still comparing it with the prices of standard hard disks. Prices of SSDs will never be comparable to HDDs, at least not yet, but when you compare them with other SSDs, these disks are quite cheap.

The disks deliver 120-143Mbs/ 80-93Mbs read/write speeds and seek times of less than 0.35ms, making the Core series up to 10x as fast on a seek-time basis and up to 40% faster on a R/W basis that the best performing 2.5” HDDs on the market, all while consuming 50% less power.
