HP Announces "HP Media Vault" To Store Digital Content

hp_logo.jpgHewlett-Packard has launched a storage device for home users and SMBs which can store large amount of data. With the help of HP Media Vault, consumers can enjoy, share, store and back up their digital content across a home network. It comes with HP PC Restore, so in the event of a PC hard drive failure, it restores a hard drive image of the PC, without locating the original operating system disk. The device can stream media files to multiple PCs in the home so that more than one family member can enjoy the same media file at the same time.

"With the introduction of the HP Media Vault, we are facilitating this consumer need and further enabling them to create, view, store, share and most of all, enjoy their digital content hassle-free at home,” said Chin Hon Cheng, Vice President, Personal Systems Group (Consumer Products and Mobile Business Group), Hewlett-Packard Asia-Pacific.
From 300GB or 500GB, the storage capacity of the HP Media Vault can be expanded up to 1.2TB, so consumers can offload digital content from existing PCs onto the network to free up capacity for each PC.
The HP Media Vault is available in 300GB and 500GB capacities and it'll cost US$379 and US$549 respectively.
