EDGE releases DiskGO Secure Guardian flash drive
EDGE today released a new pen drive for "field" users who need an extremely rugged and secure portable storage solution. The DiskGo Secure Guardian is a hardware encryption-secured flash drive with rugged, anodized-aluminum housing that withstands extreme elements such as rough treatment, water, dirt, and sand. The drive boasts 256-bit AES hardware encryption, meaning your data is totally safe with the Guardian drive. It supports dual-channel SLC flash that boasts read speeds of 25MB/s and write speeds of 16MB/s.
So how secure is the drive?
Complex passwords are required for use, which creates an additional layer of security. Encrypting data with the GUARDIAN is 100 percent mandatory—the only option for storing files is in its encrypted section. In the event the GUARDIAN is misplaced, an optional contact information feature allows for storage of information such as a phone number and an email address. Brute force and other malicious password-guessing attacks are thwarted by the GUARDIAN’s lock-down function—encrypted data is completely erased after eight failed password attempts.
The Guardian is now available in 1GB ($70), 2GB ($100), 4GB ($150), and 8GB ($250) capacities.
