Till now we've only seen one product based on USB 3.0 configuration --
Freecom's 2TB external hard disk drive. And today Active became the world's first manufacturer to offer a solid state drive based on SuperSpeed USB 3.0 configuration. The newest Active SSD supports transfer speeds of up to 4.8Gbits/sec -- ten times faster than USB 2.0. At less than 3-inches long and only 0.2-inches thin, the Aviator 312 is smaller than a credit card and is designed to fit in a pocket.
According to Active, the A312 SSDs can save a 25GB full-length HD movie in about two minutes.
The A312 boast of write speeds of up to 160MB/s and read speeds up to 240MB/s.
It comes in 16GB ($89), 32GB ($119) and 64GB ($209) storage capacities.
