At the Computex trade show Super Talent rolled out an interesting device in the form of a USB 3.0 Express RC8. This one’s a USB 3.0 flash drive powered by SandForce 1222 controller. Thanks to the SSD grade processor and small form factor, the USB 3.0 Express RC8 becomes a very good option for business professionals who constantly move data from one PC to another.
The drive supports up to 200MB/s transfer rate over USB 3.0 and around 40MB/s over USB 2.0.
AnandTech reports that the worst case performance for incompressible sequential writes over USB 3.0 is 32MB/s while read speed is 180MB/s.
The USB 3.0 Express RC8 will be available from this month in 25GB, 50GB and 100GB capacities. The 50gig model is expected to cost around $110.
