• Seagate Barracuda 7200.11 and ES.2 hard drives with 1TB storage

    Today Seagate announced two new version of it’s “Barracuda” series of hard drives with 1,000GB capacities. The drives offers “performance and reliability for a wide range of enterprise and desktop PC applications as rampant growth of digital content continues worldwide.” Based on perpendicular magnetic recording technology, the Barracuda 7200.11 and Barracuda ES.2 provides 7200 rpm speed, average seek times of 8.5ms, and 32MB cache. The Barracuda ES.2 comes with SAS / SATA interface and reduces your power bill by 20%.


    The Barracuda 7200.11 is an energy-efficient drive with 105MB/s sustained transfer rate. It also delivers “industry-leading acoustics (2.7 Bels) which is nearly undetectable by the human ear.” The Barracuda 7200.11 ($400) and ES.2 will be available from third quarter.
