Mtron MSD, MSD PRO and MSD XTM solid state drives
Mtron has updated their SSD line up with three new drives — MSD, MSD PRO and MSD XTM — optimized for consumer purposes, server applications and industrial purposes. The drives are built with special components to operate in extreme temperatures ranging from -40 to +85 degrees and provides enhanced-security features such as secure erase and write protection to provide higher data security and optimization for the server applications. Coming in 2.5-/3.5-inch form factor and up to 64GB capacity the drives boast read/write speed of 120 MB/s and 90 MB/s. The company claims their latest solid state drives are 3 to 4 times faster than existing HDDs and 30-40% faster than other SSD products in the market.
The firm plans to start mass production of these drives from September. Mtron is also planning to introduce 1.8-inch 128GB capacity drive in the 4th quarter to provide more efficient battery life and higher stability for notebook computers.
