Kingston DataTraveler 4000 and DataTraveler Vault Secure USB Flash Drives Announced

Kingston today rolled out two new USB flash drives under its DataTraveler family — the Kingston DataTraveler 4000 and DataTraveler Vault. Interesting thing about these two new drives is that both are secure drives, offering enterprises the most flexible, cost-effective USB options.
The Kingston DT4000 brings military-grade encryption to corporations such as finance and healthcare, which require high-level protection for sensitive information. The DT4000 is FIPS 140-2 Level 2 validated for the entire cryptographic module – not just the security processor as with some other solutions. The DT4000 will also be available as a centrally-managed drive later this year. It offers up to 18MB/s read speed and 10MB/s write speed, and comes in 2GB, 4GB, 8GB, and 16GB storage capacities.
On the other hand the Kingston DTVPM offers corporate customers centralized control of all USB activity. Leveraging the SafeConsole server software from BlockMaster, the DTVPM solution offers advanced features including password control, device state management, file audit log and file restrictor options to control what file types may be saved to the drive. It comes in 2GB, 4GB, 8GB, 16GB, and 32GB storage capacities.
