Inphase OEM Holographic Storage Systems Coming Soon
Inphase, manufacturer of holographic storage systems has signed Germany-based DSM as original equipment manufacturer (OEM) of its Tapestry drives. The OEM 300R drive boosts 300 GB storing capacity on a 5.25″ disc, and data transfer rate of 20 MB/s. This high speed transfer rate enables you to back-up 300GB of data within 4 hours. As per the agreement, DSM will manufacture Inphase’s Tapestry 300R holographic drives and provide the devices as a storage system option to its enterprise customers. DSM’s customer includes Deutsche Bank, European Space Agency, Siemens Medical and VW. Inphase claims that this drive will benefit broadcast, government, medical, and I.T. industries. The Tapestry 300R drive carries a list price of $18,000 with 300 GB media going for $180 each.
