Hitachi’s Ultrastar series of hard drives
Hitachi has cranked a new series ‘Ultrastar’ of hard drives for use in enterprise. The line-up features three models – Ultrastar 15K300 (pictured left), Ultrastar C10K147 (pictured center), and Ultrastar A7K1000. The first one is a 3.5-inch drive with 15000rpm speed and 300GB storage capacity. It sports 3.6-ms average seek time, Ultra320 SCSI, 3Gb/s SAS, or 4Gb/s FCAL interfaces. The Ultrastar C10K147 (SFF) is a 2.5-inch drive with 10,000rpm speed, 147GB capacity, and 3GB/s SAS.
The last one ‘Ultrastar A7K1000′ provides 3.5-inch disk, 1000GB storage, and 3GB/s SAS.
