Hitachi Maxell 500GB iVDR Hard Drive Announced
Hitachi recently announced a new iDVR hard disk drive. The Maxell 500GB portable drive is capable of recording up to 400 hours of high-definition video, and boast of transfer speed of up to 1.5 Gbit/s. The drive is available in the Japanese market and lets user record TV programs as well as standard content.
The drive employs SAFIA (Security Architecture For Intelligent Attachment device) content protection technology, which has been adopted in the removable disks for the first time.
