Finally Fusion-io’s oh-so-fast ioDrive PCIe card got a price tag. The 640GB flash-based storage card will set you for only about $2400 when it hits the market in early Q1 2008. According to firm, the card leverages new advances in solid state design and manufacturing that is “far ahead of any other companies in the solid state market today.” The card could be a good buy for industrial application as it offers RAM like performance, power of 1000 hard drives, and performance of a multi-rack disk array in a single PCIe card.

    Specification:
    700 MB/s read speed
    600 MB/s write speed
87,500 IOPS (8K packets) transaction rate
Sustain 3.2 GBps bandwidth with only four ioDrives
100,000 IOPS (4K packets) with a single ioDrive

They are shooting for a $30/GB target, so the $2400 is likely for a 80 GB drive.. Still pretty cool for some uses.
