Data Robotics intros Drobo S, DroboElite storage solutions
This morning Data Robotics introduced two new storage solutions, the Drobo S, and the DroboElite. The DroboElite is the firm’s first iSCSI SAN storage that manages itself, and features BeyondRAID technology. According to the firm, the DroboElite is the fastest Drobo to date, and features a new hardware architecture that includes an enhanced processing engine and dual high-speed iSCSI interfaces for 150 percent of the performance of previous Drobo models.
The Drobo S is targeted for SOHO pros and SMBs who require high-speed data transfers and reliable data storage. With the introduction of eSATA and a fifth drive bay, as well as enhancements to FireWire 800 throughput, the Drobo S offers 150 percent of the performance of the current four-bay Drobo, making it an ideal storage solution for creative professionals, small offices and home office users.
DroboElite is currently available at a starting price of $3,653, while the Drobo S is available starting at $852.
