ASUS EAH3850 Trinity graphics card packs three GPUs using CrossFireX technology

asus_eah3850-1.jpg Boy, just imagine the power of a system that packs Trinity! Sure, we knew that CrossFireX was going to provide heavy graphics power, but nobody expected anyone to integrate more than two GPUs per card. And to prove that no one beats ASUS as far as graphics is concerned, the firm has developed EAH3850 Trinity video card, packing three RV670 cores cooled by a heatpipe construction and a water block, all in a single card.

NordicHardware reports, "ASUS has chosen to use a kind of modular design where the two cores are located on the back and one on the front, each on their own daughter card. The cores are directly cooled by heatsinks and heatpipes that transfers the heat away from the cores to the heatsink located in the rear of the card, which in turn is cooled by a water block. Four DVI ports which can be used with up to four monitors, when CrossFire is deactivated."

Currently its just a prototype, so nobody knows when to expect a consumer version of this extreme card.
