AMD ATI Radeon HD 3800 graphics card leaked

amd_hd3800.jpgAdvanced Micro Devices has leaked some juicy details of it's HD series. Reportedly the firm is planning to update it's flagship graphics card series with a new card dubbed as "HD 3800". The new card is based on 55nm fabrication technology and supports DirectX 10.1 and PCI Express 2.0. From the details it looks like the HD 3800 is none other than RV670 graphics processor.

The leaked white paper reads, "Microsoft DirectX 10.1 is the latest application programming interface from Microsoft that unlocks the state of the art in GPU technology, represented by the ATI Radeon HD 3800 series. Key features include an updated shader model, improved anti-aliasing support, more flexible data access, and tighter specifications for better application compatibility. These features will enable exciting new techniques, such as real-time global illumination, that will define the future direction of interactive 3D graphics." Vista users need not worry as service pack 1 will include support for DirectX 10.1.

The Radeon HD 3800 series of GPUs includes couple of new technologies such as PCI Express 2.0, Unified Video Decoder (UVD), hardware accelerated tessellation, and power efficient 55nm transistor design.
