• ATI R600 is now Radeon HD 2900 XT

    Advanced Micro Devices has changed the name of it’s eagerly awaited graphic card R600, it’ll now be called as HD 2900 XT. The DirectX 10 card boost 320 stream processors – 2x Nvidia GeForce 8800 GTX. Featuring Avivo HD technology with Universal Video Decoder (UVD) for decoding H.264 and VC-1 video off of Blu-ray and HD DVD discs, it supports integrated HDMI output with 5.1 surround sound.


    The budget versions of the card RV630 and RV610 will now be called as HD 2600 Pro / XT and HD 2400 Pro / XT respectively. No word on price or launch date, lets hope to see it in upcoming weeks.

      well, i will obviously buy a 2900 XT, 8800 is obsolete …. (“320 stream processors – 2x Nvidia GeForce 8800 GTX” wtf ?! nvidia has there best video accelerator, and AMD/ATI runs a twise faster …not much to comment about it)
