AMD ATI Radeon HD 2000 Series graphics card

Advanced Micro Devices has cranked a new graphic card series ‘HD 2000′ for desktops and laptops. Now here’s the best part, the series features a top-to-bottom line of ten discrete graphics processors with DirectX 10 support (in high-end versions) so there’s something for everybody. The company claims to offer many firsts for the graphics industry, like a powerful second-generation Unified Shader Architecture (USA), 512 MB memory bus designed for full performance high dynamic range (HDR) rendering, and new Unified Video Decoder (UVD) technology for high-fidelity HD multimedia playback. The desktop line up includes HD 2900 XT ($399), and HD 2600 and HD 2400 with DirectX 10. The laptop line up also features HD 2600 and HD 2400 in addition to budget HD 2300.
Based on 65nm fabrication technology, the cards sports HDMI, ATI Avivo HD (for better HD video processing) and PowerPlay 7.0 (for longer battery life). The HD 2900 XT is immediately available while remaining cards are expected to ship in late June.
