AMD FirePro W Series GPUs Launched

In addition to FirePro A300 series APUs, AMD has introduced new FirePro W Series GPUs. There are a total of four GPUs under FirePro W Series — the AMD FirePro W9000, W8000, W7000 and W5000. AMD reports that the new GPUs are optimized and certified for leading software applications enabling users to unleash their creativity by ensuring ultra-high geometry performance. The latest AMD FirePro workstation graphics cards can enable smooth handling of complex models and feature dynamic power management that enables great performance and efficient power usage. Using AMD Eyefinity technology, the new GPUs can drive up to six, 30-inch independent displays via Multi-Stream Transport (MST) hubs for maximum workspace utilization at ultra-high 4096×2160 resolutions.

Out of all four, the FirePro W900 is the most powerful. It delivers 4 TFLOPs single precision performance, 1 TFLOPs double precision performance, and 6GB GDDR5 memory.

The AMD FirePro W8000 delivers 3.23 TFLOPs single precision performance, 806 GFLOPs double precision performance, and 4GB GDDR5 memory.

The FirePro W7000 delivers 2.4 TFLOPs single precision performance, 152 GFLOPs double precision performance, and 4GB GDDR5 memory.

The FirePro W5000 offers 1.27 TFLOPs single precision performance, 80 GFLOPs double precision performance, and 2GB GDDR5 memory.

AMD FirePro W9000 ($3,999), W8000 ($1599), W7000 ($899) and W5000 ($599) workstation graphics cards are now available.
