Amazon to launch 6″ Kindle tablet!

Amazon Kindle Fire tablet is doing really well. This is the main reason why the company is planning to launch a 10″ model. Now word on internet has it Amazon will also launch a 6-inch model of Kindle tablet!

Reportedly, EPD maker E Ink Holdings (EIH) has landed orders for 6″ color e-book reader modules from Amazon.

If this news is not shocking, shipments will begin in March! Interestingly, Amazon thinks it’ll be able to sell a 6″ eBook reader as well and is therefore expecting shipment of three million units a month!

We’ll let you know as soon as we hear more about the 6″ Amazon Kindle tablet, so stay tuned!

Intel SSD 313 coming in April!

Come April and you’ll not only see the launch of Intel Ivy Bridge processors, but also the Intel SSD 313. Successor to Intel SSD 311, the upcoming Intel SSD 313 is designed to be used with Intel Smart Response Technology for SSD+HDD setups.

The 7mm drives come in standard 2.5-inch size with mSATA form factor and SATA 3.0Gbps interface.

Intel SSD 313 is based on 25nm SLC (single-level cell) NAND and will come in 20GB ($99) and 24GB ($119) storage capacities.

Requirements of 2012 ultrabooks announced by Intel

Intel believes ultrabooks will surely make a mark in this year and therefore it went ahead and announced the requirements of ultrabooks in 2012. This is just for notebook vendors and not for consumers. It basically lists out the criteria to be followed by notebook vendors in order to market their ultra-thin notebooks as ultrabooks.

Lets start with the most important criteria, the thickness. According to Intel, 14-inch & above systems should have a thickness equal to or less than 21mm, and for systems under 14-inches thickness should be less or equal to 18mm.

Ultrabooks should feature a minimum of solid state storage with a wake up in under seven seconds.

Battery life should be a minimum of 5 hours, though 8 hours is recommended. Ultrabooks should also offer WiFi, Intel WiDi, USB 3.0/Thunderbolt, touch screen support, GPS, accelerometer, proximity sensor and ambient light sensor.

Next generation ultrabooks will be announced as soon as Intel launches Ivy Bridge processors.

We have heard about the Asus Eee Pad Transformer TF300T and TF700T tablets in the past, but back then we didn’t have all the information. But luckily we have now stumbled across a specification sheet which compares all transformer tablets including the Asus Eee Pad Transformer TF300T and TF700T! Lets get started with the Asus Eee Pad Transformer TF300T. Powered by NVIDIA Tegra 3 quad-core processor, it features 10.1″ IPS panel (1280*800), 1GB DDR3 memory, 16GB storage, 1.2MP front facing camera, 8MP rear camera, and Android 4.0.

The device measures 9.9mm thin and weighs 640g. It also provide 802.11b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth 2.1, microSD card slot, micro HDMI, and 12.5 hours battery life.

On the other hand the Asus Eee Pad Transformer TF700T is powered by a dual-core Qualcomm 1.5GHz processor (ARM Cortex A9), and features 10.1″ full HD display (1920*1080), 1GB DDR2 RAM, 32GB/64GB storage, 2MP front facing camera, 8MP rear camera with flash, and Android 4.0.

It measures 8.5mm thin and weighs 585g. Other features remain same except for battery life which is pegged at 18hours.

NEC Medias Tab 7″ waterproof tablet launched

NEC has recently announced a new tablet in the form of Medias Tab. What is interesting about this 7-inch tablet is that it boast of a waterproof design, making it an ideal tablet for outdoor work as well as holidays. Powered by dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 1.2GHz processor, the tablet offers 1GB RAM, 2GB internal storage, and microSD card slot for expandable storage.

NEC Medias Tab also provide 1280*800 pixel display, WiFi, 2PM front and rear cameras, Bluetooth 4.0, and Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system.

Interestingly, it will also support DOCOMO’s Xi LTE network.

No word on pricing, but expect it to be available in Japanese market from April.

Huawei MediaPad 10 tablet with full HD display, Android ICS

MWC is coming and here’s first scope on what will be on offer. Reportedly, Huawei is planning to launch a new slate table for multimedia lovers. Dubbed as Huawei MediaPad 10, the device features a 10-inch full HD display (1920*1080 resolution) and Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system.

The Huawei MediaPad 10 sport a metal exterior with an ultra-thin frame and provides an 8MP snapper, WiFi, 3G and microSD card slot for expandable storage.

The tablet will be officially announced in the next week, so stay tuned!

Razer and BioWare has launched new gaming peripherals and gear specially created for the highly anticipated Action RPG Mass Effect 3. The new Razer line up includes a Razer Imperator gaming mouse, Razer BlackWidow Ultimate gaming keyboard, Razer Vespula dual-sided gaming mouse mat, Razer Onza Tournament Edition Xbox 360 controller, and Razer Chimaera Xbox 360 gaming headset.

The mouse sports ergonomic right-handed design with rubberized contoured thumb grip for added control. iKey, maker of rugged computer peripheral has launched a new keyboard — the iKey SB-101. What is interesting about this keyboard is its ultra-thin profile measuring less than 0.5-inch thick. Furthermore, the iKey SB-101 features a fully-sealed polycarbonate case and rubber keypad, making it impervious to water, dirt, and corrosive cleaning products. The SB-101 also features a QuickLock key, allowing users to quickly disable the keys and avoid unwanted keystrokes during the cleaning and disinfection process.

The iKey SB-101 provides individually lit red LED backlit keys for nighttime or ambient light use as well.

Redesigned Apple MacBook Pro coming in 2012. To look like MacBook Air

We know Apple is planning to launch redesigned MacBook Pro laptops and may take inspiration from MacBook Air family. To confirm earlier reports, Apple Insider reports that new MacBook Pro laptops will indeed look like MacBook Air with unibody thin and light chassis. In fact new models will also do away with optical drive and feature solid state storage for instant-on capabilities.

This change will reflect across all laptop size including 13″, 15″ and 17″. But what is unclear is whether Apple will do away with MacBook Pro moniker.

Expect Apple to launch new models after Intel launches Ivy Bridge processors.

Fujitsu to launch new ultrabooks and tablets this year

Fujitsu’s 2012 roadmap has been leaked and from what we understand the company plans to launch new ultrabooks, tablets, laptops and desktops. Going specific, the Japanese giant will launch two new ultrabooks in May, followed by an Android media tablet in June. Around the same time it’ll launch mainstream thin-and-light laptops.

Then in September Fujitsu plans to launch a new tablet with detachable keyboard. This will be a business grade tablet. In Q3 it’ll also launch a stylish ultra-thin display.

Finally, in Q4 the company will roll out its first Windows 8 tablet and touchscreen all-in-one as well as thin client and zero client.

We’ll let you know as and when we learn more about Fujitsu’s upcoming products, so stay tuned.
