Both are recently released machines for business professionals and students who are looking for an ultraportable computing solution. The Inspiron Mini 9 is more suitable for college students. The 9-inch netbook starts at $299 and comes with decent specification including an Intel Atom N270 1.6GHz processor; 512MB DDR2 RAM; 4GB SSD; Optional Camera, 8.9" Glossy LED LCD 1024 x 600; GMA 950 Graphics 4-cell battery; 802.11g WiFi; and Ubuntu 8.04 operating system. On the other hand the Inspiron Mini 12 will be pretty good for mobile professionals. The ultraportable notebook starts at $399 and can be customized with an Intel Atom Z520 1.33GHz processor; 1GB DDR2 RAM; 40GB HDD; 3-cell battery; 12.1" WXGA LCD; Intel GMA 500; 802.11g WiFI; Bluetooth; WebCam; and Ubuntu.
