Super Talent intros PCIe RAIDDrive workstation with 6TB storage

super-talent_building.jpg When you take Super Talent's name image of SSDs and Flash drives cross your mind. But today firm gave a little shock by issuing a press release mentioning a workstation. The Super Talent Workstation, dubbed as PCIe RAIDDrive, boast Super Talent's patented RAIDSSD Technology to accelerate the adoption of systems with very high performance solid state disk subsystems through the integration of large numbers of SSDs. As its been introduced by a storage firm with a speciality in SSD, the workstation features a powerful collection of solid state drives totaling staggering 6TB.

The firm reports, benchmarking data taken with Crystal Disk Mark v2.2 shows sustained sequential read speed of over 1.5 GB/sec (1500 MB/sec), and sequential write speed of nearly 1.35 GB/sec (1350 MB/sec). Benchmarking data taken with HDBench showed random read speed of 725 MB/sec and random write speed of 515 MB/sec.

Nothing much is known about the workstation except that it'll be based on Intel's newest Quad-Core Core i7 Processors, and features Super Talent's 1333MHz DDR3 DIMMs.

Another interesting thing about this workstation is that all of them will be custom made. When customers contact Super Talent they will work with a professional trained system technician to help them custom design the system to their needs.

Sounds interesting, no?

The Super Talent PCIe RAIDDrive workstation will be on display at the 2009 Computex Taipei show.
