HP TouchSmart IQ500 Series touchscreen desktop unveiled

The TouchSmart IQ500 series is he latest addition in HP's touchscreen series of PCs which are specially designed to "change the way people interact with their computers by making digital entertainment a truly compelling, hands-on experience." It allows you to play music, zoom in or out of photos, and quickly check the weather or watch TV without touching the keyboard or mouse. The economically priced desktop computer will be a good buy if you're too much into iPhone like touch-thing. And if you've never played with a touchscreen PC then it might be a good idea to buy one.

The stylishly designed machine is powered by an Intel Core 2 Duo processor and offers 22-inch diagonal, high-definition widescreen display. The ENERGY STAR rated desktop also provides low-profile wireless keyboard, integrated WLAN, 4GB DDR2RAM, large capacity hard drive, media card reader, and HP Ambient Light that lets consumers set a mood and see the keyboard in the dark.

The IQ500 series includes two models: TouchSmart IQ504 PC and the TV-tuner equipped IQ506 PC, priced at $1,299 and $1499, respectively. Both are expected to be available in retail outlets on July 13.
