HP intros three thin client products - Compaq 6720t Mobile notebook and Compaq t5730, t5735 desktops

hp_compaq-6720t.jpg Hewlett-Packard has updated its thin client solutions with three new products -- the Compaq 6720t Mobile notebook and Compaq t5730, t5735 desktops. These days many companies are launching thin client products as they are very energy efficient compared to traditional PCs. Thin Clients connect over a network to a centralized server where all processing and storage takes place, providing reduced maintenance costs, minimal application updates, as well as higher levels of security and energy efficiency.

The Compaq 6720t is HP's first thin client notebook. Designed for on-the-go professionals, it features Celeron M Processor 423 (1.06GHz), up to 2GB RAM, 1GB flash storage, DVD drive, 15.4-inch diagonal WXGA anti-glare display, GMA 950 graphics, 802.11a/b/g wireless, and Windows XPe. It's now available with a starting price of $725.

The HP Compaq t5730 desktop is powered by an AMD Sempron 2100+ processor and comes with 1GB flash storage, 1GB RAM, ATI Radeon X1250 graphics and XP Embedded SP2. The t5735 is similarly specced except for Debian Linux 4.0 operating system. The HP Compaq t5730 and t5735 thin clients starts at $499 and $450 respectively.
