FXI launches Cotton Candy computer
Though it looks like a flash drive, FXI’ Cotton Candy is a computer. Under the hood, it packs an ARM Cortex-A9 dual-core processor (1.2GHz) as well as a quad-core ARM Mali-400MP GPU. If that’s not all it has a 1GB of RAM, microSD reader, WiFi b/g/n, Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR, USB and HDMI outputs. But wondering what to do with it? Just plug it into an HDTV or a laptop and you can use it as a “cloud computer.”
The basic idea is to give you a personal cloud computer which you can use anywhere. Just connect this drive to a PC or laptop using USB port or in an HDTV using HDMI, and this device becomes “a portal to the cloud, essentially allowing you to carry your own personal OS with you, to run on any device and have the same experience each time.”
The device also packs Android operating system so as soon as you connect it to a machine, you’ll get an Android desktop.
The best use of this device will be to Plugging it in an HDTV to convert it into a computer using Wireless or Bluetooth keyboard and mouse.
FXI’s Cotton Candy will be available in second quarter of 2012 for less than $200.
