ASUS to announce Eee desktop, monitor and TV

asus_eeepc.jpg It's only natural that Asus might want to benefit from the brand Eee PC. So its no surprise that the Taiwanese computer maker has decided to roll out a whole Eee products family comprising of E-DT (desktop PC), E-TV and E-Monitor. Their main selling point? Of course, decent design and low cost. Initial version of the E-DT will be based on Intel Celeron processor, while later generations will adopt Intel's Shelton'08 platform with Diamondville processors and the 945GC chipset. The desktop is expected to ship without monitor for $200-300 from April or May.

Now hold your breath -- the E-Monitor is actually an all-in-one PC, similar to Apple's iMac and Dell's XPS One. Its expected to feature a 19-/21-inch screen, TV Tuner, and Shelton'08 platform. And price? Only $499.

Digitimes claims that the E-TV will compete in the over 42-inch LCD TV market. It also incorporates Linux-based PC functionality of other Eee PC products. Its expected to cost about $200 more than TVs in the same class.

Hopefully we'll see some these products at the upcoming CeBIT 2008.
