Alienware HD Media Server announced

Alienware HD Media Server is a complete home entertainment system for media geeks with some great features. Its actually a sibling of the Hangar18 which was launched only a few months back. The HD Media Server is for installers, resellers, and home builders who are "looking to create the high definition digital home of tomorrow with full home integration in mind." It boast up to 4TB hot-swappable hard drive, Blu-ray drive, recording and playing back at 1080p via an HDMI, internal cable card (OCUR), and Dolby Digital 7.1 preamp output. The best part of becoming a proud owner of this system is that you'll be able to automate most of your home features, like lighting, room music, security, and air conditioning. It also lets you watch high definition movies, record TV shows, and wirelessly stream your media to other PCs, mobile devices, and media extenders throughout your home.

The sad thing is you won't be able to purchase this mean machine any time sooner (even if you're willing to spend big bucks) because the company has decided to sell it through their Channel program (no word on whats that) only. In simple language Alienware HD Media Server will not be available directly to consumers.
